Floating for Students: Float Through Your Exams

FLOAT THROUGH YOUR EXAMS

Float therapy provides the perfect sensory conditions for deep relaxation of the body and mind. By immersing yourself in the sensory deprivation tank, you are floating in 550kgs of Magnesium Sulphate (Epsom Salt) with no sound, no light, and the water and air are at body temperature simulating the ultimate experience of nothingness. This allows the brain to enter a meditative state free from external sensory input. Floating can help with re-building neurological pathways while also alleviating the damaging effects of overactive stress hormones. By giving the brain the opportunity to heal, students often gain a sense of clarity, focus and improved memory. Studies also show that floating can help with improving problem solving skills, and improved decision making. For many, floating prior to exams assists with retaining information, as the memory centre of the brain performs better when in a state of deep relaxation. Therefore, while floating, the brain works to focus on recently learned skills and information, making it a great way to process and retain information.

Student Testimonials:

"Such an incredible experience! Really relieved a lot of stress leading up to exams! Absolutely loved it :) Thank you."

- Jasper, Year 12 Student, Palm Beach Currumbin State High School.

"I've been floating at Freedom since they opened in 2016. I've found floating has really helped me to de-stress, especially before and after exams. We live in such a distracting world, it's nice to be in a place with nothing going on and you can just focus on yourself without distraction. If you're an over thinker, try floating! It has helped me learn to sit back and relax my mind."

- Jayden, 5th year Engineering and Environmental Science Student, Griffith University.

How can you manage your pain with Acupuncture?

Have you ever tried Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a Traditional Chinese Medicine practice over 2000 years old. It has been used to treat many conditions and relieve pain. The process involves being thoroughly examined and diagnosed and then tiny needles ~ 0.18mm thin to be exact ~ are inserted into the skin to stimulate different points (known as acupoints) of the body depending on the individuals needs.

Acupuncture is commonly used to treat many types of pain including: Acute and Chronic lower back pain, Plantar heel pain, Shoulder impingement syndrome, Neck pain, Temporomandibular pain (jaw), Irritable bowel syndrome, Constipation and Menstrual pain. If you are in the hands of a good Acupuncturist, the experience of reducing pain should be relatively pain-free, no matter where it is.
